Copyright Protection for Hyperlinks under EU, US, Australian Law and Experiences for Vietnam
Abstract
In the era of technological development, more and more news aggregator websites contain links to major news sites. This activity is carried out based on a widespread technique on the Internet, which is Website linking. With its functions, Website linking raises many issues that need to be resolved regarding whether the act of creating Hyperlinks is an act of copyright infringement in the digital age. The article analyzes the legal provisions of the EU, the United States, and Australia related to the issue of copyright protection for Hyperlinks through the case law of these countries. In addition, the article analyzes Vietnam's legal provisions for copyright protection for Hyperlinks. Therefore, the article recommends improving Vietnamese law on copyright protection for Hyperlinks.
